Can you move an eSIM to another phone?
Short answer: not once it is installed. It is worth understanding why, because the fix is entirely about which phone you install it on in the first place.
A QR code installs once
The code we send is an address and a one-time key. Your phone uses it to download the profile, and the key is spent in the process — that is what stops anyone who sees the code over your shoulder from installing your plan on their own phone. The same mechanism is why you cannot install it a second time yourself. If you scan a code that has already worked and the phone refuses it, the profile is not lost; it is on the device you first used.
What about the transfer feature on my phone?
Modern iPhones and Android handsets can move an eSIM between devices, but only when the operator that issued the profile supports it and authorises the move. That is designed for your home operator moving your number to a new handset. A prepaid travel profile is not issued on those terms, so the option will either not appear or will fail when you use it. Do not count on it as a backup plan.
Install on the phone you are actually taking
This is the whole of the advice. If a new phone is arriving before the trip, wait and install there. If you are deciding between two handsets, decide first. If you travel with a spare phone, buy the eSIM for whichever one will be your primary — the profile cannot hedge, and neither can you after the fact.
If you have already installed it on the wrong phone
Tell us before you delete anything. If the plan has not been used, we can usually sort it out; if data has already been consumed, our refund policy applies. Deleting the profile from the first phone does not free the code to be used again — that is the single most common thing people try, and it removes your only working copy. Message support with your order ID and leave the profile where it is until you hear back.
Deleting a profile you no longer need
Once a plan is finished, removing it is safe and tidies up the settings screen. On iPhone: Settings › Cellular › select the line › Delete eSIM. On Android: Settings › Network & internet › SIMs › select it › Erase. Your own SIM is untouched. Just be certain the plan is genuinely spent first, because deletion is the one action here that cannot be undone.
